The Importance of Certification
When we call somebody a
“professional,” it means they have a particular set of skills that your average
person does not have. For instance, an electrician or plumber is a professional
person because they’ve received the proper education and training to work in
those respective professions. The proof of their skills in these trades come in
the form of certificates.
It is customary to receive a
certificate after you complete a trade course at a vocational school. A certificate signals to
employers, clients, and customers that you can perform your profession’s
duties. Most employers and customers will not hire you to perform specialized
jobs or projects without the appropriate certification on your resume.\
Certification
vs. Degree
What do you think is better,
certification or degree? We’ve been told most of our lives to receive a college
or university degree. However, a degree does not prove you have any specific
skills. It only shows you received post-secondary education in a generalized
major, such as law or business. But it does not prove you have the skills
necessary to perform well in a real-world setting.
When you join a certification
program, you received specialized hands-on training in one particular field.
You don’t have to take a bunch of college courses that don’t relate to your
trade. Instead, all of the studying will help you enhance your skills and
become better at your trade. The best part is that a certification program’s
tuition price is far less money than a college degree program’s tuition.
Build
Job Skills
Most certification programs can
be completed within 3 to 12 months. This allows you to study multiple trades
and expand your knowledge and skills across several fields. The more
certifications you obtain, the more marketable you will be to employers and
customers. Why not spend a little bit of free time each day and work towards
building your knowledge through certification programs?
Thanks to the internet age, you
don’t have to live near vocational schools to receive your certifications.
There are plenty of online certification programs which let you earn an
accredited certificate without even having to leave your house. You can earn
certifications in various fields, including I.T. support, programming, TESOL,
web design and so on.
The world is moving very
quickly. If you want to stay afloat in the job market, you need to keep
learning new skills to remain competitive. Certifications are how you get those
skills and prove to everyone else that you have them. That is how you will gain
recognition and employment. But most importantly, it will give you confidence
in yourself.
Certification
– Upskilling
Upskilling commonly refers to
employees who learn new skills to help themselves perform better in the
workplace. But you don’t need to be an employee to benefit from upskilling. If
you’re an entrepreneur, businessperson or freelancer, you can take advantage of
upskilling to help yourself and your business.
When you have successfully
learned a new skill, you will be issued a certification as proof. A certificate
is a permanent addition to your resume, which you can take with you for the
rest of your life. After you earn one certificate, you should work toward
earning another certificate. There is no limit to the number of skills and
certifications that you can learn in this world.
Below are the top four benefits
of upskilling to increase your certifications.
1)
More Job Opportunities
Upskilling for certifications
will give you more job opportunities. Companies are always looking to hire
highly skilled employees. If you can obtain the necessary skills needed to
secure suitable employment, you will have several job opportunities to choose
from in your preferred field.
2)
More Self-Confidence
People who have more
certifications tend to have more self-confidence. When you possess several
different skills, you will feel good about yourself and what you’ve
accomplished. That is an achievement no one can take away from you.
Good self-confidence can help
you in all aspects of your life. You can perform better at interviews, customer
support, business meetings, and any other social situation.
3)
Live a Happier Life
Over 70% of the people in this
world are working jobs they don’t like to do. But you have the power to choose
your destiny by upskilling and obtaining the skills necessary to work a better
job. Then you can live a happier life performing a job you love rather than a
job you hate.
4)
Increase Customer Satisfaction
Customer satisfaction is the
heart of any business model. When you have more skills, you can create better
products and services for your customers. It’ll even make it easier to answer
their questions and help them out.
As a result, you’ll see an
increase in customer satisfaction because of all the skills you bring to the
table. That will translate into more significant profits and repeat business
for yourself or your employer.
Conclusion
Anyone with a computer and
internet connection can learn new skills and obtain accredited certifications.
You simply need to put forward the time and effort into making it happen for
yourself.

History of Flipbooks
The earliest known flipbooks originated during medieval times, such as the flipbook “Sigenot” from 1470. It was the first book on record to have sequential imagery in it. Although its images do not create a consistent motion, they showcase different action sequences of the characters.
Nobody had ever seen anything like it 500 years
ago. As time went on, better flipbooks were invented that reduced the motion
intervals between each picture. It created a more authentic illusion of a
moving image without any jump cuts or inconsistencies in the motions.
In 1868, a British lithograph printer named John
Barnes Linnett created the first flipbook to use a linear sequence of images.
He is credited as the inventor of the modern version of the flipbook. A patent
was filed for the invention under the name “Kineograph” in the year 1868. After
his death from pneumonia, his widow sold the patent to a businessman from the United
States.
In 1894, a German inventor and filmmaker named
Max Skladanowsky took the flipbook concept a step further by introducing it to
film. Rather than use a series of pictures and drawings, he showcased
photographic images in serial format. These
were photographs he captured with his camera. The following year, he developed
a film projector to display a series of photos to an audience.
In a sense, the flipbook was the inspiration for
movies and film projection. Every time you go to the movie theatre to watch the
latest film release, you’re basically watching a series of images running one
after another. The flipbook concept is how cartoons and animated movies are
made as well. The difference is that illustrated images are used in sequence rather
than photographic images.
Modern Times
Modern paper flipbooks are created as novelty
items for children. They might even find a small flipbook as a prize in a
Cracker Jack box. As for adults, they like to collect vintage flipbooks from
the 18th and 19th centuries because of their historical significance. There are
even people competing to create the biggest flipbook in the world. The World
Records for “most
pages in a flipbook” title
holder was Tushar Pillay in 2018.
Some companies use flipbooks as part of their
promotional strategies. For example, Walt Disney Animation Studios has an
introductory animated logo at the beginning of every film they made since 2007.
It is not a physical flipbook, but the classic flipbook is represented in the
logo.

What is a Flipbook?
A flipbook is a special type of picture booklet, where each page contains a
similar image that gradually changes on every subsequent page. The person is
supposed to quickly flip through all the pages to blend the image on each page
into the next page’s image. It creates the illusion of animated characters or
objects in motion.
Flipbooks were one of the earliest forms of
animated imagery and motion picture technology ever in the world. Before there
were computers and television shows, people had to rely on flipbooks to see
moving images in action. Each flipbook page contains a picture of a person or
object in a slightly different position. Longer flipbooks have more drawn-out
action sequences compared to shorter flipbooks.
It is almost the same concept of how cartoons are
made. Illustrators design an image for each frame and then put all of the
frames together in sequence. Once the frames are played in subsequent order,
the illusion of animation is created. The only difference with physical
flipbooks is you must use your fingers to flip through the pages. Animators and
filmmakers use projection technology to make their illusions.
It takes a lot more work to convey a message or
story in a flipbook. Drawing the imagery on each page is time consuming
compared to writing the story in text format. However, the viewers will benefit
more because they don’t need to devote as much time to reading anything. They
can flip through the book within a few seconds to understand the basic message
of the story.
How to Hold a Flipbook
Speed is the key to making the illusion work
well. Some people are better at reading flipbooks than others. It requires you
to hold the flipbook properly, with one hand underneath the book and the other
hand flipping through the pages. On the flipping hand, your thumb and index
fingers do all the work. You use these two fingers to lift all the pages and
release them one at a time, but quickly.
Flipbooks don’t always read from the front to the
back. Sometimes you have to start on the back page and flip through to the
front page to get the entire animated image. It is easier to flip through the
pages when the books are smaller because your fingers have a better grip on the
pages. Bigger flipbooks with lots of pages will require you to use more than
two fingers.
